Newsweek: DBHS Ranks Among Top High Schools Nationwide

 

Newsweek named Diamond Bar High School number 135 in its 2012 list of the 1,000 best high schools in America.The rating also places the school nineteenth in California. This is the seventh consecutive year that out school has made the list since 2006.

 

This year, Newsweek’s ranking highlights the best 1,000 public high schools in the nation—the ones that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads. The list is based on six components provided by school administrators: graduation rate (25 percent), college matriculation rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and AP courses offered  per student(5 percent).

 

Here's how the Newsweek numbers played out for the Brahmas:

STATE RANK: 19
GRAD RATE: 100%

AVERAGE AP SCORE: 3.7
AVERAGE ACT SCORE: 27.2
COLLEGE BOUND: 97%
