Diamond Bar High FBLA Takes On Nationals in SAT (San Antonio, Texas)
The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference was held June 29–July 2 in San Antonio, Texas. Over 13,000 high school students around the U.S. and foreign nations (China, Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, Hungary) attended the exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 100 business and business-related competitive events.
4 FBLA members competed this year in the FBLA National Leadership Conference.
Mark Tan, a rising senior, competed in Business Calculations, placing 9th.
Michael Cheng and Jackson Lennon, both rising seniors, competed in the group event, Global Business, and made the finals (Top 15).
Allen Wang, a rising sophomore, competed in Introduction to Financial Math
The students enjoyed authentic barbecue and visited key cultural sites such as the RiverWalk and the Alamo. They also engaged in informative workshops that provided leadership skills and interview strategies. Overall, the students were happy to compete and meet new people.
On a personal note, DBHS FBLA sadly wishes farewell to Mrs. Emmons, our dedicated adviser for the past 2 years.
As for the upcoming year, Mark Tan, Vice President of Competitive Events, plans to enhance the study system for the Diamond Bar Chapter to get more students to advance and place at the national level. Already, he has organized a significant amount of resources for events like Business Calculations, Introduction to Financial Math, Global Business, Entrepreneurship, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Computer Applications, and Personal Finance.
