Walnut Valley Unified School District’s Nutrition Services Department will continue to provide “Grab & Go” meals at “no cost” during the summer.
Curbside meal distribution will continue at the drive-thru locations listed below from June 1st through August 6th. (CLOSED FRIDAYS) You are welcome to pick-up meals at the location closest to you. For those without transportation, walk-up “Grab & Go” pick up option is available. Parents/Guardians may pick up meals at one location. Children do NOT need to be present. All meals must be eaten off site; congregating at these locations will not be allowed. Children do NOT need to be students of WVUSD to receive meals.
Times and Locations (Effective 6/1/21):
· 7:30am to 9:00am. (Monday - Thursday) CLOSED FRIDAYS UNTIL JULY THE END OF JULY
· Walnut High School – Staff parking lot
· Diamond Bar High School – In front of the main office
Neighboring school districts’ Food & Nutrition Services Departments continue to create broader access
in the event the above locations cannot be accessed. Please contact the alternate district directly.
The USDA also provides resources for families to find meals https://www.fns.usda.gov/meals4kids. Also, the USDA National Hunger Hotline remains a helpful resource for people seeking food assistance. The hotline, operated by Hunger Free America, can be reached Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. at 1-866-3-HUNGRY (1-866-348-6479) or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (1-877-842-6273) (for Spanish).
