Course Description

Welcome to English 2 Honors. In this class you will be encountering a variety of texts from British Literature ranging from the Renaissance to the Modern Era. Be prepared to begin the year discussing the summer reading. In the first weeks of school, we will cover the summer novel, doing a project that ties in elements from the novel with short stories. Once the summer work has been completed, we will move through several different time periods, discussing the literature in each. In some cases, you'll gain valuable historical insight into the novels and poetry through your World History and A.P. European History classes. Throughout the year, you can expect to write at least 9 essays, deliver 2 speeches, present 2 projects, and act in 1 play, aside from completing regular classwork and homework daily. My goal is to cover all aspects of language arts, from reading comprehension to public speaking. You should be challenged throughout the year; I know that as an honors student, you'll be up to the task.
