All school campuses in the Walnut Valley Unified School District, including DBHS, will be closed through the remainder of the 2019-20 school year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are transitioning to online instruction.

Science Olympiad Competes At State Finals

Saturday, April 6, 2019, our DBHS Science Olympiad team competed at the Southern California state competition held at Cal Tech in Pasadena. The team successful placed 12th out of the 32 highly competitive teams that participated. Our DBHS Scioly team received medals (top 6 places) in 8 of the 25 events, including two first place awards. Special congratulations to the following students who received medals in their events:
2nd Place – Boomilever – Sean Ru, Wilson Zhu
1st Place – Codebusters – Ryan Real, Keshav Sriram, Karissa Wong
6th Place – Designer Genes – Alice Wang, Eileen Zu
3rd Place – Forensics – Alice Wang, Eileen Zu
4th Place – Geologic Mapping – Jeremy Gan, Keshav Sriram
1st Place – Herpetology – Ryan Lou, Keshav Sriram
5th Place – Mission Possible – Ryan Real, Karissa Wong
3rd Place – Detector Building – Karissa Wong
Congratulations to our Science Olympiad team which finished strong for the season. We look forward to competing next year and wish our seniors: Jeremy Gan, Alice Wang, Hannah Zhang (Co-captain) and Karen Zhang, best of luck in their future science-related endeavors.
