Principal's Message - Week 1

WEEK 1 – August 12 – 16

Hello Brahma Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to school!

I hope everyone had a restful summer break and is ready to start school.

This is going to be a great year, and I am pleased to greet you this New School Year’s Eve! Each week, I will send a weekly memo to all parents and students to keep you updated and informed with our Brahma activities.

Each new school year we anticipate changes to our school staff and campus facility, and listed below are our new employees joining the Brahma staff. In addition, I have shared a few highlights to our campus buildings.

  • Our incoming 9th Grade Class of 2023
  • Tiffany Brito (Teacher, ASDI Special Education)
  • Matthew Brummett (Interim-Assistant Principal)
  • Ken Carlson (Teacher, Chemistry thru Forensics)
  • Nancee French (Teacher, Business Management /Entrepreneurship)
  • Rich Langham (Teacher, Choral Director)
  • John Rodrigues (Long-Term Sub, Special Education Math)
  • Inger Turner (School Psychologist)
  • Kristen Wong (Speech Pathologist)

In addition to new staff, we are excited to begin construction during the 2019 – 2020 school year. This year we will break ground on our new Music & Science buildings. As a result of the construction projects, some classes we will be temporarily relocated to portable classrooms located on the JV Baseball Field. We have also increased our passing period (click HERE for our Bell Schedules) to support students moving across campus. As a reminder, these much needed projects come to our campus as a result of tax payer support of Measure WV (click HERE for detailed information and updates). Thank you for supporting vital improvements to our campus!

In this section of my Principal’s Memo, you will find valuable resources and opportunities offered through our parent groups and community partnerships.

This Thursday, August 15, SAPA is hosting Alumni Night in the Golden Horseshoe at Diamond Bar High School. Students and parents are welcome to attend! Come hear from recent Brahma grads who are attending Stanford, USC, UC colleges and other private schools.

Best Regards,

Reuben A. Jones
