Two Casts Announced for "Leading Ladies"

Story By Catherine Garcia, DiamondBarPatch

The Diamond Bar High School Performing Arts Department will present Leading Ladies October 14, 15, 21, and 22.

The comedy follows two Shakespearean actors from England, Jack and Leo, who find themselves in Amish country performing Scenes from Shakespeare. When the pair hear that an elderly woman is close to death and will leave her fortune to her long lost English nephews, they decide to pass themselves off as the duo. The plan sounds like it will work, until they discover the relatives are actually nieces. Romantic entanglements and hilarity ensue.

There are two casts for Leading Ladies: purple and gold. The purple cast consists of Krystal Navarro (Meg), Matthew Tanaka (Leo), Ryan Gatus (Jack), Kimmy Rubinstein (Audrey), Ruche Mule’ (Duncan), Linn Chang (Florence), Jonathan Contreras (Doc), and Harry Moon (Butch). The gold cast features Miranda Canseco (Meg), Matthew Tanaka (Leo), Ryan Gatus (Jack), Jessica Barrios (Audrey), Richard Mule’ (Duncan), Yasmine Shahbaz (Florence), Michael Portugal (Doc), and Harry Moon (Butch).

All shows start at 7 p.m at the Diamond Bar High School Theater, 21400 E. Pathfinder Road, Diamond Bar. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students. For reservations and information, call Peter Bland at 909-594-1405 ext. 33276.
