Brahmas Win Awards At DECA Conference

January 9 & 10, twenty-eight DECA Brahmas competed in their first business writing exam and interview/role plays in Anaheim and did a phenomenal job. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

Here are the awards our Brahmas earned during the weekend conference:

1. Ashley S. Chen (11) Principles of Hospitality and Tourism- 1st place in exam, role play interview, and overall- she swept 1st place awards for this category

2. Kenny Ni (10) Business Law & Ethics- 2nd place for role play interview and 3rd place in exam, 3rd place overall

3. Ambrose So (10) Financial Services- 3rd place in exam

4. Melody Zhao (10) Financial Services 3rd place in exam

5. Matthew Ho (10) Business Finance 3rd place in exam and role play- 2nd place overall

6. Christine Gu (10) Food Marketing- 3rd place in exam and honorable mention in role play

7. The following students were honorable mention in their categories from human resources, sports& entertainment, business management and administration, retail merchandising:
