Principal's Memo - Week 7

WEEK 7 – September 25 – September 29

Hello Brahma Parents and Guardians,

Hope all is well and you are settling into the 1st semester. The first 6-week grading period ended last week, and grades will be updated in Aeries Parent Portal by Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

Last Friday, September 22 our amazing Thundering Herd Marching Band took first place in the Los Angeles County Fair Band Competition. There were over 40 schools competing for $10,000! Congratulations to Band Director, Steve Acciani and Marie Satofor winning 1st Place and taking home the cash prize.

On Saturday, September 23 we had the honor of hosting Walnut Valley Unified School District’s 1st Parent Symposium. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Michele Borba, helped us with building Empathy and Resilience in our students. Parents were then able to select from over 20 different presentations by WVUSD staff. Special thanks to Grade Level Coordinator David Desmond, Intervention Counselor Lauren Osajima-Baird, Math Teacher Les Schafer, & Athletic Director Albert Lim for presenting to our parents. All of the presentations were engaging and discussed valuable topics for our school community.
