Principal's Memo - Week 34

WEEK 34 – April 30 – May 4

Hello Brahmas,

Hope all is well!

Last week the Walnut Valley Educational Foundation (WVEF) hosted “A Night of the Stars” celebration at the Diamond Center. This event was an overwhelming success, and our entire school community benefits from the leadership, service and commitment of the WVEF!

At this event, hundreds of community, education, and business leaders were entertained by our amazing Commercial Music Band (thanks Mr. Daryl Hernandez), and all Walnut Valley schools were able to honor important parents and volunteers from their schools. For DBHS, distinguished alumnus Dr. Ryan Michael O’Shea was honored for his community service and excellence in medicine. Mr. Steve Acciani and Ms. Marie Sato received much deserved recognition for their leadership and service for the Performing Arts and on Measure WV. It was wonderful to see former Head Brahma, Denis Paul, be recognized for his continued support and guidance for all students through his leadership with Dedicated To Learning. The highlight of the night occurred when we celebrated Wanda Tanaka and her late husband Jack Tanaka for their 18 years of dedication, support and leadership with our Leo Club! It was truly a night of stars!

Also last week, Christine Zhou won 1st place in the US Congressional Art contest! After receiving the award, Christine thanked her art teacher Ms. Coleen Gee for her guidance and support in her artistic development. ClickHERE to see Christine’s award winning piece.
