WEEK 36 – May 7 – May 11
Welcome to Teacher Appreciation Week! Tuesday, May 8, 2018, is National Teacher Appreciation Day. Please join me in saying thank you to our amazing teachers!
Speaking of saying thanks, I would like to recognize our staff that organized, planned, and worked Prom this year. The 2018 Prom had over 1000 students and it was one of the highest attended for quite some time. Our theme this year was Finding Neverland and special thanks to Junior Class 2019 Advisors, Isabella Chiang, Shari DeCambra, and Eleanor Boruah. Planning for Prom begins in January and there are many details that our Class Advisors handle including selling tickets at lunch for three weeks, and sponsoring the scavenger hunt for tickets. On Prom night, additional staff also contribute to make the night a safe one for our students… thanks to Assistant Principal David Hong, Instructional Dean Matt Brummett, GLCs, Jenna Brummett, Sonja Burns, Rich Gonzales, and Stephanie Duenas. Thanks to our campus security team members, John Rodriguez and Harrison Lindsay. And of course our DBHS teachers who volunteered to be there, Latitia Thomas, Emily Clark, Jasmine Silver, Stacy Tenace, Margaret Ku, Leah Murphy, and Michael Munoz. Is was a great night and we hope the students had fun!
Last Week our Boys Tennis Team was honored with the All CIF Team GPA award. The winners of the 32 Annual CIF Southern Section – FORD Academic Awards program were announced at the CIF-SS Office. Click HERE to see more details. Congratulations to the Boys Tennis team and Head Coach Carl Flint.
