Hello Brahma Parents and Guardians, 


Welcome to Week 5.

Thanks for your patience while we closed campus this afternoon to repair our electrical issue. I am pleased to report that our electrical breaker was replaced, and our power system is fully restored. Special thanks to our Operations Manager Mike Bromberg, District Electricians John McElhattan and John Bowles, and our Director of MOTF Sam Sornoso for making sure our facility is working properly.  

This Week’s Activities, Updates, and Reminders:

  • College Night is this Thursday, September 13, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in our Gym. This is a District-wide College opportunity with over 40 Colleges & Universities present to speak to our students and get valuable information about college. In addition, there will also be breakout sessions in the LINC beginning at 6pm. The first session is titled Growth Mindset, and the second is Reducing Anxiety in Standardized Testing and College Admission. Special Thanks to Rachelle Romero for coordinating this excellent opportunity for our students.
  • Tuesday, September 11, Blair School of Music & Vanderbilt University, and St. John University will be in the Career Center at lunch. The Blair School Music provides undergraduate conservatory-style education in music performance, theory, and history at Vanderbilt University, a major research university located in Nashville, Tennessee. To learn more stop by the Career Center @ lunch.
  • Also on Tuesday, September 11, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) will be on campus in the Career Center at lunch. MCPHS is the oldest institution of higher education in Boston founded in 1821. Providing over 50 majors, it’s an accredited, private institution located across from Harvard Medical School. The University provides traditional and accelerated programs of study that combine in-depth knowledge with hands-on clinical practice focused on professional education in pharmacy and the health sciences. Students are able to retain academic and clinical opportunities at various prestigious medical and Harvard Medical research institutions.
  • Wednesday, September 12, the National Guard will be in the Career Center @ lunch.
  • Thursday, September 13, UC San Diego and University of the Pacific will be in the Career Center @ lunch. This is a great opportunity to learn about admission requirements and the application process.
  • For 10th and 11th Graders, EAOP's Road to College Conference will take place on Saturday, September 22 at UC Riverside from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. This conference is designed to encourage sophomores and juniors to be well-rounded individuals, while maintaining competitive eligibility for college admissions. Participants will receive information about:
  • Free SAT/ACT prep resources
  • Various colleges and universities and their admissions  
  • Financial Aid
  • All participants must register for the event by Friday, September 14.

  • PSAT – If you have already signed up for the official PSAT/NMSQT happening on our campus on Saturday, October 13, please come by Guidance to pick up a College Board Student Guide. There is much information to help you prepare for the PSAT/NMSQT. Juniors taking this test are entered into the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. If you are a JUNIOR (c/o 2020) and have not yet registered for this exam you may still do so by paying the $27.00 fee in the Finance Department (Main Office) by September 11.
