Principal's Memo - Week 10

WEEK 10 – October 15 – October 19

Hello Brahma Parents and Guardians,

This week we have two Diamond Bar high school staff members, Band Director Steve Acciani, Equipment Technician Dave Hernandez, and two senior students Natalie Chung and Rachel Wang who will be recognized at our Board of Trustees meeting in our District Board room on Wednesday, October 17, at 7pm for their leadership and service in our community.

Later this week, we also have an important safety drill for our students and staff. The “California Great ShakeOut” earthquake preparedness drill is on Thursday, October 18. This drill is a coordinated earthquake drill throughout California to make sure we are prepared to survive and recover from big earthquakes (Click HERE for more details about the annual drill).

Important Updates from our GLCs and the Guidance Office

Hello Brahmas, Halloween is approaching and as always, we will allow students to show their Halloween spirit, but there are some guidelines we must follow to ensure student safety:

  • Students are prohibited from wearing masks
  • Make-up or face painting should be very minimal. Staff needs to still be able to EASILY identify a student wearing make-up or face painting. If your face is fully painted, you will be required to wash your face before attending classes.
  • Weapons, or replica weapons are not allowed
  • Costumes need to adhere to the school dress code and should not disrupt the instructional program during school hours.

If you have ANY questions regarding your costume, please see your GLC before Halloween for guidance or approval. Thank you for you cooperation Brahmas. We look forward to a fun and safe Halloween on campus.
