DIAMOND BAR HIGH SCHOOL
WEEK 11 – October 22 – October 26
Hello Brahma Parents and Guardians,
Last week we showed our “Active Shooter Student Training” video during 4th period. This Wednesday, October 24, LA County Sheriff Deputy Aaron Scheller will be in the Golden Horseshoe at lunch to answer questions and discuss our emergency plans with students. We are very grateful for Deputy Scheller’s support and communication with our community.
I hope you can come out to see our Fall Play, Suite Surrender, which runs for two weeks beginning on October 26 – November 3, 2018. Drama Director, Jared Kaitz says that the show has “Mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendres, and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles,” and you're sure to be impressed with our talented Drama students! Tickets are on sale during lunch and prior to the start of the performance. You can also buy tickets at www.seatyourself.biz/dbhsdrama - All shows start at 7pm.
Our Athletic Director, Albert Lim prepares a weekly summary of Brahma Athletics. In his weekly updates, he highlights news about our student-athletes and score updates. For example, written in this week's update are our Brahma September Athletes of the Month. Congratulations to:
- X Country Boys & Girls: Frederick Yang & Keili Ishitani
- Football: Jack Rukes
- Girls Golf: Emma Han
- Girls Tennis: Lindsay Kashiwabara

Important Updates from our GLCs and the Guidance Office
Did you know that there are valuable academic support opportunities offered at no charge through Mt. San Antonio College? Specifically, students can receive FREE support on the SAT / ACT and general tutoring in Math and Science. Download the attached files at the bottom of this email for more info.
Reminder, all students may show their Halloween spirit, but please keep in mind our focus on student safety. A few guidelines to follow:
- Students are prohibited from wearing masks
- Make-up or face painting should be very minimal. Staff needs to still be able to EASILY identify a student wearing make-up or face painting. If your face is fully painted, you will be required to wash your face before attending classes.
- Weapons, or replica weapons are not allowed
- Costumes need to adhere to the school dress code and should not disrupt the instructional program during school hours.
If you have ANY questions regarding your costume, please see your GLC before Halloween for guidance or approval. Thank you for you cooperation Brahmas. We look forward to a fun and safe Halloween on campus.
